As you may know, we perform fencing and outdoor living jobs all over Central Florida, from Saint Petersburg to Orlando. Toothbrush Fence – New Zealand

What better way to start off than with a toothbrush fence!  Construction on this strange fence began in early 2006 as a way for the builder to express his absurd art. However, he soon realized that people would want to travel to see this fence and take pictures. He began taking donations to add to his fence and adds more toothbrushes year-round!

Aquarium Fence – Çeşme, Turkey

The brainchild of Mehmet Ali Gökçeoğlu, he decided a fence that could hold an entire aquarium of fish instead of a wood or vinyl fence was what he needed. This resulted in a 165-foot “fence” that is the home to many fish, eels, octupuses, and mollusks. While not the standard idea of what a fence is, it has become a popular tourist attraction in the resort town.

Buckingham Palace – Westminster, London, England

Situated outside the London residence of the monarch of the United Kingdom, this beautiful fence may be one of the most visited fences in the world! This fence stands tall and strong to protect the royal family residence while simultaneously being a popular photo spot for tourists. It features cast-iron stakes adorned with elaborate gilded fleurs-de-lis, making it a symbol of majesty.

After walking through two sitting walls, we have a gazebo display area, pergola display area, and an additional pavilion display. These display areas also feature examples of some of the fire pits and fire places that we install!

Going under the pergola display area to the right, you come across one of our Fire Magic Outdoor Kitchen display area, featuring several products from Fire Magic Grills!

Next is our screen room display area. This area showcases examples of an Aluminum Frame Outdoor Kitchen and Polymer Cabinet Outdoor Kitchen, as well as showing more outdoor cooking products, such as Firetainment Tabletop Cooking, EVO Cooktops, Summerset Grills, and Memphis Wood Fire Grills.

After our Outdoor Kitchen sections, many displays of our Danielle Fence Litter Cans can be seen, followed by an example of a Stacked Stone Outdoor Kitchen with additional Fire Magic products as well as a Chicago Brick Oven! We have another area with more fire features before closing it off with a display rack of our many vinyl fence styles!

Welcome to the beginning of our new blog series, “Fencing Around the World”!

Love Lock Bridge – Paris, France

Both sides of the Pont des Arts Bridge in Paris, no longer resemble much of a fence. Instead, you will see over 500 feet of padlocks and key locks. Since the early 2000s, tourists who visit the site have attached a ‘love lock’ to the chain-link fence.

These locks typically contain different messages and names, allowing visitors to display their love for the world to see. Anytime a lock is added, the key is thrown into the river to symbolize their unbreakable bond. Holding nearly 1 million love locks, the fence was sure to make our list of influential fences.

The Green Monster – Fenway Park, Boston, Massachusetts

This towering fence calls Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts, home. The Green Monster is the left-field wall of this grand ballpark, and is famous for not only its size but its green color! The fence was built in early 1912 and was originally constructed out of wood. Since then, it has changed from wood to being made of hard plastic and other vinyl materials.

The Green Monster helps to protect Fenway Park from people who try to sneak into the baseball games, but it’s also known for helping protect passersby from those high flyway baseballs.

The Dingo Fence – Australia

The Dingo Fence is the longest in the entire world! This impressive fence measures in at 3,400 miles long. That is only 106 miles short of the distance it would take to get from Florida to Brazil!

The fence was built in the early 1880s and then was reinforced in the early 1900s. It was created to safeguard sheep from dingoes in the area and has been a saving grace for farmers and ranchers all these years.

Vinyl fences serve as a beautiful canvas for any outdoor living space. Whether around a pool, garden, or patio, vinyl fencing is low maintenance, does not rot, and will maintain its shape for years. However, like anything that rests outdoors, it can get dirty fairly quickly. Fortunately, there are several easy ways to clean your fence to keep it looking its best!

1. Regularly Spray Your Fence with a Hose or Pressure Washer

The first step is to regularly spray your fence off with a hose or pressure washer. This will knock off any loose dirt or mud that might accumulate on your fence without requiring much effort. This should always be your first step.

2. Wipe Down the Fence

After hosing off your fence, wiping down the fence with a cleaning cloth. This should serve to remove any remaining grime still on your vinyl fence. For tougher dirt spots, a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser is extremely effective.

3. Use Simple Household Cleaners

If grime and stains still persist after the first two steps, using a common household cleaner will work to dig deeper into those problem areas. Combining dish soap and warm water and using a non-abrasive sponge can help break down those remaining stains.

4. Bleach It Out

If the first three steps do not work, utilize a bleach solution. Use a maximum of one-part bleach for every five parts water. Be sure to wear heavy-duty rubber gloves to protect your skin from the bleach.

5. Special Cleaners for Special Stains

Some stains will arise that ordinary cleaners or bleach cannot break down. These include iron or mold. A specialized vinyl fence cleaner or xylene cleaner are good options if they are necessary.

6. Be Consistent with Fence Care

Taking consistent time out to clean your fence will go a LONG way to keeping it in peak condition. It will also prevent build up of those tough stains that will require much more time and effort to clean.

Memorial Day is almost here, and if you really want to do it up big for your Memorial Day Cookout, this dish is the ticket to satisfy your friends and family! A delicious recipe brought to us by Summerset Grills,  the brisket slowly caramelizes, chars, and marinates while it smokes to perfection.

Begin by combining the spices and brown sugar to make the rub, then thoroughly apply over the entirety of the brisket. Add minced garlic and let the beef reach room temperature. Soak the wood chips and prep grill for indirect heat while the meat is sitting.  Only lighting one side of the grill, smoke the brisket for 6 hours at a temperature between 230-275 degrees. When finished, a small fork should twist effortlessly in the meat.

Ingredients

• 6-8 pound boneless flat-cut beef brisket
• 2 tbsp sea salt
• 3 tbsp brown sugar
• 1 tbsp chili powder
• 1 tbsp paprika
• 2 tsp dried thyme
• 1 tbsp dried mustard
• 2 tbsp granulated garlic
• 1 tbsp onion powder
• 1 tbsp minced garlic
• 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce
• Favorite wood chips

Cooking Directions

1. In a small bowl, mix salt, brown sugar, & remaining spices except minced garlic.
2. Rub spice blend over the entire surface of the brisket.
3. Top with minced garlic
4. Soak your wood chips
5. Prep grill: light one side & place your wood chips near, but on the side that’s not lit. Watch carefully so that the wood doesn’t catch fire. You want smokiness and smoldering, not flame. Your meat will go over unlit side.
6. Once heat enters the smoking zone (250-300 degrees), add your brisket & wood chips.
7. Cover & leave it! Now focus on temperature control. Try to keep your grill at 230-275 degrees. Watch for about 6 hours.
8. The ideal temperature of a properly smoked brisket is 195°F (keep in mind that the internal temp of the brisket can increase by 10 degrees even after it’s been removed from the grill.)
9. Stick a small fork in the brisket, & if it twists easily in the meat, it’s done.

3. Snacks & Appetizers

Remember the apps! No cookout is complete without chips and dip and other finger foods. Snacks and appetizers will keep your guests satisfied until the main course is ready!

4. Load up the Grill

The best choice for a cookout is something of which you can cook a lot at the same time. This includes hamburgers, hot dogs, brats, and kebabs!

5. Entertainment

Whether you build the perfect music playlist, set up yard games like cornhole or set up a TV to watch the baseball game, having some entertainment will keep the mood lively and keep your guests engaged!
